Jović Winery is located in the village of Potrkanje, near Knjaževac. History of wine-making in Knjaževac region dates back to Roman times, 4th century, and there are numerous archaeological artefacts which bear witness to this (stone ornaments with motif of grapes and vine, wine cups, etc). Since those times till the present day, generations of vinegrowers from Knjaževac region have been transmitting knowledge of vinegrowing and wine-making.

Jović family is a famous family of vinegrowers and wine-makers, that has been growing high-quality grapes in their own vineyards for more than a century. Current owners of the winery are two brothers, Saša and Jovan Jović, while their father is the famous Moša Jović, former general director of "Džervin" and a wine-maker himself.

Vineyards are located at an altitude ranging between 250 and 300 meters above sea level, covering the total surface of 15 hectares. Both red and white grape varieties are grown in the vineyards: Vranac, Cabernet Sauvignon, Muscat Hamburg, Chardonnay, Rheinriesling and Sauvignon Blanc.

In 1987, Jović family also created their own collection of archive wines, where specimens of earlier vintages are kept.
