ŽUPSKI BOJADISER

Teinturiers are usually grown in vineyards alongside other grape varieties, and their primary purpose is to improve colour of wine made from other grape varieties. They are rich in pigments, which are concentrated not only in the skin, but the flesh as well. Teinturiers comprise 3-5% of all red grape varieties. The most common teinturiers in Serbian vineyards are: Alicante Bouschet, Župski Bojadiser (Župski Teinturier) and Krajinski Bojadiser (Krajinski Teinturier). Župski Bojadiser is a more recent  variety created in Serbia. The crossing of Alicante Bouschet X Gamay Noir resulted in Župski Bojadiser. It is characterized by moderate resistance to frost. It's also late-ripening, moderately resistant to vine diseases and pests. It provides intensely coloured grape must , and sugar content in  grape must ranges between 8-10 g/l.
