The past two months of lockdown during covid-19 epidemic in Serbia have significantly affected local wine events. Spring wine festivals and fairs have been cancelled, as well as promotional tastings and winery tours... It seems that wineries were eagerly waiting for the period of lockdown and other measures to fight the epidemic to pass in order to present wines from new vintages to wine lovers. The moment has come to present them on the market and reach new consumers.

And as soon as Serbia terminated restrictive measures, the announcements of new dates for wine events followed, so we can expect that the second half of the year will mark a return to the normal state, just like it used to be before the epidemic.

Officially, the first wine festival in Serbia in the post-corona period is the Festival of Fruška Gora wines, which will be held on June 6th, 2020 at 6 pm in the town of Inđija (address: Vojnović Mansion, Cara Dušana bb, Inđija).

The first wine festival in Šumadija province that will bring together winemakers and wine lovers is Kragujevac Wine Salon. The festival starts on June 20th, 2020 at 12 o'clock in Kragujevac Hotel (address: Kralja Petra I No. 18, Kragujevac). We can expect that this year's edition of the festival will meet participants' high expectations and the city of Kragujevac will show that it has raised educated wine audience that can taste wines without exposing other visitors to the risk of potential re-spread of the virus.

Wine consumers in Belgrade, particularly women among them, will have an opportunity to gather for some easygoing talk and socializing at the first Women's Wine Salon, which is scheduled for June 26th, 2020 at the address Promenada, Beton Hall, Karadjordjeva 2-4, Belgrade. The organizers have not yet announced how many exhibitors are planned to participate and show their wines, but you may be interested to discover what this newly-coined term "Women's Wine" means.

Belgrade Wine Week, a multi-day festival filled with wine enjoyment, wine education, wine parties, informal wine competition, themed wine exhibitions, will be held from September 22nd to 27th, 2020 in Belgrade at several locations.

The twelfth edition of Wine Style Salon organized by Wine Style magazine will be held on September 26th, 2020. The hall of the Crowne Plaza Hotel (address: Vladimira Popovića 10, New Belgrade) will host about 70 regional and domestic wineries, accompanied with a selection of wines from world-famous wine regions.

October 14th is reserved for Prokupac Salon in Belgrade, so you will have an opportunity to discover everything that Serbia has to offer to wine lovers concerning Prokupac wines. The exact location of this year's Prokupac Salon has not been announced yet.

Belgrade's Metropol Palace Hotel (address: Bulevar kralja Aleksandra 69) will be the epicenter of regional wine exhibition Grand Tasting on October 31st, 2020, where 30 selected wineries of the region will exhibit their best wines. A special part of the exhibition area will be dedicated to orange wines.

Novi Sad Wine Salon has also been postponed, so instead of the spring edition, the organizers have already announced the most important professional wine fair in Novi Sad in the big hall of the Park Hotel (address: Novosadskog Sajma 35, Novi Sad) on November 13th and 14th, 2020. About 90 wineries from Serbia and the region will gather there to present their wines to citizens of Novi Sad.

Fans of orange wine and wines made by the natural method will gather on November 28th, 2020 at the Metropol Palace Hotel in Belgrade (address: 69 Bulevar kralja Aleksandra) and explore what the Balkan region has to offer in this segment of winemaking at the Terroirs 2020 festival.

And for the end of this by-all-criteria-unusual wine year, the Hyatt Regency hotel (address: Milentija Popovića 5, New Belgrade) will host Belgrade Wine Salon for the 17th time on December 11th and 12th, 2020.
