Serbian winemaking is also becoming a part of popular culture. This year, starting from January 23rd, the national television Radio Television of Serbia will broadcast new series called Secrets of The Vines (from January 18th, Superstar cable TV channel as well), which will put into the spotlight Serbia's winemaking and rural life linked to vineyards and wine cellars. It is expected that the series will gain great popularity, and thus motivate viewers to explore Serbian wine regions and get acquainted with local wineries and wines.

The Secret of the Vine series was filmed at locations in Subotica and Negotinska Krajina.

The story follows two winemakers' families from different cultural backgrounds, whose intimate sagas are shrouded in lies and silence. Apparently, the plot based on melodrama is skillfully enriched with contents related to winemaker's life and shots of Serbian vineyards. The family of the rich tycoon Vuk from Subotica hides many secrets, but Vera, a single mother of 3 sons from Negotinska Krajina, also lives in fear that her secrets will be revealed. Vuk's daughter Anya finished oenology studies in France. She returns to her homeland with the intention of taking over the family business. Anya's education and state-of-the-art technologies mastered in the west collide with the local habits and winemaking traditions.

36 episodes of the series will be a popular pastime for all wine lovers. That is why one should watch it with a glass of wine in hands.

A proven acting duo starring: Sloboda Mićalović and Vojin Ćetković, along with Anita Mančić, Dara Džokić, Marko Vasiljević, etc. The script was written by Mirjana Bobić-Mojsilović.

The idea for the series came from the producer Dejan Karaklajić, who, almost a decade ago, had the idea to shoot the series in Istria (Croatia), but the plans failed in those days. Nowadays, Serbian vineyards have hit the stage.
