Serbian wineries, primarily winemakers from Šumadija, have established regular cooperation with the Bordeaux wine scene. As a result, Serbia regularly exhibits its wines at the national stand during the Vinitech Sifel wine and wine equipment fair in Bordeaux (France).

Due to corona and unstable global epidemiological situation, Vinitech Sifel fair is one of few world-class events that has not been canceled, but has gone online in the period from December 1st to December 3rd, 2020. A virtual platform has been set up where hundreds of exhibitors from all over the world have exhibited their products and services and presented themselves through videos, powerpoint presentations and live conferences. Therefore, Serbian wineries have prepared their presentation in online format at the national pavilion of Serbia.

As part of preparations for the fair, a promotional video was made in French language in order to better present Serbia's winemaking and local wineries. Also, a presentation was prepared for visitors who want to discover more information about Serbia during the fair. The following wineries were presented: Despotika, Aleksandrović, Radovanović, Zmajevac and Art Wine from Šumadija, Kovačević from Srem, Matalj and Tri Oraha from Negotinska Krajina.

 

On December 2nd, 2020, a live video conference was held at which Serbian wineries were presented. Vesna Pacail (Actif Conseil), Stephane Badet (professor of winemaking and viticulture) and Tomislav Ivanović (Vinopedia) discussed Serbia's winemaking potential and Serbian wines in direct contact with French visitors to the fair and gave their views on opportunities for Serbian wine sector development and further cooperation with partners from Bordeaux.
