"Pudar" (vineyard keeper in Serbian) is a constant supervisor and guardian of the vineyard and there would be no wine or vineyard without his watchful eye... All year round, he monitors how the vines thrive and keeps a watchful eye on them, and his job finishes after the grape harvest. Then, together with wine-makers, he celebrates a successful close to the grape harvest season.That's why Irig,  the capital of Mt. Fruška Gora, has been a host of festival dedicated to vineyard keeper since 1993. Beside varied music/entertainment program, the festival will also host the best vineyard contest, the best cellar contest, the best wine & grape brandy contest. Traditionally, Saturday is reserved for cooking the best Vineyard Keeper's Stew in the town's park.
