As of this year, Concours Mondial de Bruxelles wine competition has been divided into 4 separate segments in different wine categories. This year's competition cycle starts in Valladolid, Spain, from March 11th to March 13th.
Valladolid will host this year's evaluation of rosé wine at the Concours Mondial de Bruxelles (CMB). The competition will be held from March 11th to March 13th at the Patio Herreriano Museum. Wines will be judged by panels with a total of 60 wine judges.
For the first time this year, the Concours Mondial de Bruxelles has been divided into 4 segments (for different wine categories), with each segment being organized in a different time period and in a different country. In this way, evaluations will be performed by selected wine experts for each of the categories, taking into account their experience and expertise. This significant change in the structure of the competition happened because the Concours Mondial, with more than 10,000 wine samples received, reached a size of competition that is difficult to logistically follow in one place.
By holding a rosé wine evaluation in March, the organizers want to meet market expectations and growing consumer interest in rosé wines. In this way, award-winning winemakers will receive promotional and marketing tools to present their rosé wines as soon as they go on sale. The organizers also want to develop a platform for dialogue and commitment to rosé wines exclusively.
The organizers chose Valladolid because rosé is especially important for the entire region, which is the only one on the Iberian Peninsula to boast of 5 appelations: Cigales, Rueda, Ribera del Duero, Toro and Leon with more than 27,000 hectares of vineyards.
Panels of judges will evaluate between 1,200 and 1,300 rosé samples at the CMB rosé competition in Valladolid.
Registration for the competition is open until February 18th. Link to the competition website:

In addition to gold and silver medals, the competition will also award trophies:
- Revelation trophy for the best still rosé wine
-Revelation trophy for the best sparkling rosé wine
The Concours Mondial de Bruxelles is an international competition in which more than 10,000 wines take part. The competition with a tradition of more than 25 years is one of the leading wine events in the world.
