CHATEAU MOUTON ROTHSCHILD 2017 LABEL REVEALED

Following a tradition dating back to 1945, one well-known artist has every year the complete freedom to create a wine label for the next vintage of Chateau Mouton Rothschild wine that will soon be released on the market.

This year, the owners of Chateau Mouton Rothschild have hired French painter Annette Messager, born in Berck, the winner of the Golden Lion Award at the Venice Biennale. In her artwork, she takes objects, forms and words from everyday life, creating a poetics that is strongly influenced by her feminist beliefs.

Her artwork for 2017 Chateau Mouton Rothschild label is entitled "Hallelujah". Combining symbolic and realistic levels, she emphasizes the combination of two substances: milk and wine, which are often brought together in the Bible, praising their virtues.

Varietal composition of Chateau Mouton Rothschild 2017: 90% Cabernet Sauvignon, 9% Merlot, 1% Petit Verdot.
