"The Lady of Aleksandrovac" has walked out of the Župa County Museum and joined vinegrowers and wine-makers from Župa region in promotion of wine and wine tourism in Župa. This statue from the neolithic period, classified into Vinča culture, was discovered during archaeological excavations in Vitkovo fields, 4km eastwards from Aleksandrovac, and it was chosen to represent the symbol of the First International Wine Fair Župa 2012, which will be held on 20th and 21st April, 2012 at the Župa Sports Hall (Kruševačka str. bb, Aleksandrovac), The Museum of Wine-making and Winegrowing (Dr Milana Markovića str. 7) and the Secondary School of Agriculture "St. Tryphon" (Kruševačka str. 8-10). "Lady of Aleksandrovac" reminds us that grapes are growin in these regions for several millennia. As a part of the Fair, there will also be a Brandy & Wine Contest (which will take place somewhat earlier - on 7th and 8th April, 2012). Wines will be evaluated  by the committee chaired by Slobodan Jović,PhD, professor at the Faculty of Agriculture in Belgrade. Opening and award ceremony are scheduled on 20th April, 2012 at 14h.
