Mačkov Podrum (Tomcat's Cellar) is organizing for the 12th time this year the celebration of Young Portugieser Day, an event dedicated to wine, Portugieser, poetry, culture and love. One of the accompanying activities is the contest for the most beautiful wine poem.

The contest is organized in cooperation with the Serbian Library in Irig, which represents the oldest public library in our region. Founded in 1842, it played a major role in preserving culture and tradition in Irig and surroundings.

Authors can submit their poems by October 31st, 2019. The only condition is that the theme of the poem is wine, and all other details can be found on the official website of the organizer

The best poems will be selected by a jury consisting of: Todor Bjelkić, writer, president of the jury, Maja Plavšić, professor of literature, Vera Novković, director of the Serbian Library, Zlatko Zrilić, Sremske novine and Djurdjica Jojić, Mačkov Podrum Winery.

The winners will be announced at a ceremony on the occasion of Young Portugieser Day in Wine Street in Irig on Friday, November 22nd, 2019.
