Wine & grape exhibitions have been taking place in the city of Vršac since 1857, when the first event of this kind was held at the inn "At Two Keys". Vršac Grape Harvest or the Grape Ball continues this tradition of Vršac. During this event, you can visit numerous cultural-entertainment programmes or the exhibition of grapes & wine.At the opening ceremony of this event, the mayor of Vršac symbolically hands over keys of the city to Mr Grape Wine,  mascot of this event, who symbolizes "direct descendant of the god Bacchus". This character was invented by Serbian writer Jovan Sterija Popović.

Every year, an exhibition of grapes and wine is organized in the entrance lobby of the City Hall. An integral part of this event are also tourist programmes, such as "grapes from the plane", carnival procession, promotion of wine route tourism.
