BANAT

Banat wine region is located in Banat plain, and consists of vinegrowing oases that are grouped in two sub-regions: Kikinda and Central Banat, the largest of which is Kikinda.

Based on 2012 data, there are 98 hectares of vineyards in Banat wine region, with the largest areas under vineyards in the territory of Kikinda Municipality. The vineyards spread at the altitude of 70 to 80 meters, and therefore Banat is the lowest wine region in Serbia.

Soil: The predominant type of soil is Chernozem.

Grape Producers: In this area, 590 households own vineyards. The largest number of vineyards is located in the municipality of Kikinda.

Varieties: Cabernet Sauvignon, Muscat Hamburg, Chardonnay, Rhine Riesling, Muscat Croquant, Grašac, Pinot Noir, Merlot
